Meet Our People

Dr. Amy WatsonAmy Lynne Watson, DC – Owner, Chiropractor

Dr. Amy Watson has been a chiropractor for over ten years, and is the mother of three incredible kids. She graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Psychology. During her own healing journey, she discovered the wonders of chiropractic care. This led her to change her career goal from being a family counselor to becoming a chiropractic physician.

She began chiropractic school in 1999 and had her 1st child midway through the program. This experience helped her learn firsthand about the unique needs of the prenatal and postpartum chiropractic patient. After the birth of her son, she began learning more about chiropractic care for infants. She began focusing on treating moms and babies in the student clinic, began taking Craniosacral Therapy seminars, and completed her senior internship with Dr. Elise Hewitt, an expert in the field of pediatric chiropractic. She graduated from Western States Chiropractic College in 2003, and worked closely with Dr. Hewitt at Portland Chiropractic Group for two years.

In 2005, she founded Whole Mama ~ Whole Child. She feels incredibly blessed to be living her dream: balancing the magic of motherhood and family time with the joy of working with the hundreds of amazing families at WM~WC.

Nahinu James, DC – Chiropractor

Dr. Nahinu is a board certified chiropractic physician and a trained Craniosacral therapist through the Upledger Institute. She was born and raised on the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawai’i, and tends to channel her local upbringing – including energetic vibes and philosophies – into her discussions and treatments with patients. She has spent most of her adult life in the Pacific Northwest – graduating from Pacific University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and then earning her Doctorate of Chiropractic from the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon.

Dr. Nahinu completed her senior internship with Dr. Amy Watson, a reputable and beloved member of the prenatal, postpartum, and pediatric chiropractic community here in Portland. Being immersed in the detailed and compassionate care required within this specialty strengthened her certainty that being a healthcare advocate for mamas and their littles was a part of her calling and purpose. She joined the WMWC team and quickly realized through multitudes of treatments with expecting mothers, that she wanted to be someone who put mom’s first. More often than not, mamas will think of themselves last and forgo care in order to nurture and ensure the health and happiness of their families. She wants to be the voice that helps you and reminds you – “If you do not take care of yourself, how will you continue to care for those who count on you?” As her work continued, Dr. Nahinu got to witness the growth of families, and has had the extreme pleasure of offering supportive and gentle care to the babes of her prenatal and postpartum patients. Dr. Nahinu continues to delve into the world of pregnancy and pediatric chiropractic care with continuing education courses and seminars that place an emphasis on treatments and therapies for both the blossoming mother and infant.

When not at Whole Mama Whole Child, Dr. Nahinu is out gallivanting with her partner (Tyler) & husky pup (Nalu), reading for pure joy (she has a goal of 30 books in 2018!), or practicing health in mind & body with yoga, circuit training, and running/cycling. She is also bound & determined to learn how to create macramé wall hangings!

What does a treatment with you look like?

My goal is to help empower mamas & mamas-to-be. I am here to offer a listening ear and therapeutic techniques and treatments, along with additional references & resources when needed. I firmly believe we are stronger as a supportive unit, and that all warrior mamas (whether this is your first or third newborn) deserve to have an army behind them! I also find no limit to the happiness it brings me to assist littles in proper movement patterns and feeling more comfortable in their ever-changing bodies. Know that when you or your child are on my table, all of your concerns & needs come first. Everything else is secondary to providing you with the absolute best care towards a path & life of optimum health. You & your family deserve that. We all deserve such love & compassion. Here’s to bountiful, beautiful, and well-loved lives! I look forward to meeting you along the way & becoming a part of your healthcare team. Cheers! – Dr. N

Jacquelyn Pannullo, Licensed Massage Therapist #16525

While working on my master’s degree I had the opportunity to work with a group of mothers experiencing disability in their families.  These women shared how their circumstances affected their daily lives physically, emotionally, spiritually and as women.  It was then that I started my work with women; assisting them on their journey as people and mothers.  Facilitating the body and mind’s natural healing process is a passion of mine that continues to grow and evolve.

From my experiences of teaching and supporting mothers, as well as my bodywork and energy healing I started working with infants and mamas during pregnancy and postpartum.  I am lucky enough to live in the same city as Carol Gray, an amazing healer and teacher of Craniosacral therapy for infants, pregnancy and postpartum mamas, and have spent a few years soaking in what she has to share.  All of my experiences from childhood to the present have allowed me to find and strengthen my superpowers and share them with the people that come into my life.  I appreciate all the opportunities I have to work with people, as I learn as much from them as they do from me.

I am here in service to you to reveal the message in your pain and support you on your journey to wellness.
